Preparation Before Assembly
Check Accessories and Read the Manual: After unpacking, first check whether all panels, desk legs, screws, connectors (such as three-in-one connectors), and other accessories are complete, and carefully read the installation manual provided by the manufacturer to understand the specific steps and precautions.
Prepare Tools and Environment: Prepare a Phillips/flathead screwdriver, hex wrench (if needed), electric drill (for efficiency), level, rubber mallet, and other tools. Choose a flat, spacious area for assembly, and lay a soft cloth or scratch-resistant mat on the floor to protect the desktop and the floor.
Core Assembly Steps
Assemble the Base Frame: Most office desks start with assembling the legs or metal supports. According to the manual, initially fix the desk legs to the connectors (such as beams) with screws, but do not fully tighten them at once to allow for later adjustments.
Secure the Desktop: Flip the desktop, placing the bottom side up on a soft pad. Align the assembled base frame with the pre-drilled holes on the desktop and attach with screws. Make sure the screws are tight, but avoid over-tightening to prevent cracking or deforming the panels.
Install Accessories and Adjust: Install drawers, keyboard trays, cabinets, and other attachments. After assembling drawer slides and the box, install them in the designated position and adjust to ensure smooth sliding. Then flip the entire desk upright, check the desktop with a level, and adjust the desk legs (if any) to eliminate wobbling.
Final Inspection and Cleanup: Check whether all screws and connectors are firmly tightened, and test the opening and closing of drawers and cabinet doors. Clean the assembly area and organize cables properly (e.g., using cable management channels).
Key Precautions
Follow the Manual Sequence: The assembly order may vary for different desk structures; always follow the manual instructions to avoid incorrect or missing assembly.
Protect the Furniture Surface: During assembly, especially when lifting or moving the desktop, it is recommended to work with a partner and use a soft cloth underneath to prevent scratches on wood grain or panel surfaces.
Ensure Stability and Leveling: After installation, be sure to check that the desk is stable and does not wobble, and that the desktop is level. Uneven floors can be corrected by adjusting the desk legs or using shims.
